She is Song Ji-woo, who portrayed Kang Mina (contestant number 196), the first to be eliminated in Squid Game 2, but who left a strong impression. Despite her brief appearance in the first episode, netizens expressed regret over her death, with comments like “She didn’t deserve to die so soon,” “She’s so beautiful,” and “I’m so sad she was the first to die.”

Previously, Song Ji-woo had played the child role of Hye-jeong in the Netflix series “The Glory,” starring Song Hye-kyo. The Glory depicts the story of a woman whose soul was shattered by violence in her childhood, and her meticulously planned revenge. The series became a hit, ranking first in Korea and several other countries upon its release. In the drama, Hye-jeong (played by Song Ji-woo) is one of the school bullies tormenting the young Moon Dong-eun (played by Jeong Ji-so).

In a recent interview, Song Ji-woo, who appeared in the Lifetime Channel drama “Love’s Andante,” shared her ambition, “I want to be an actress who isn’t limited to just one genre. I’m eager to try various genres and roles, including action and girl-crush roles.”

Born in 1997, Song Ji-woo is a graduate of the Korean National University of Arts. She debuted in 2019 in the MBC drama “Blessing of the Sea” and has since appeared in various works, including “Love’s Andante,” “A Time Called You,” and “Gangnam B-side.”
